We had so much fun in Taiwan!

This post is super LATE & its gonna be LONG, so skip if this is lagging your com!

22 Nov 2009
This was the first time I took China Airlines for a flight which lasted for more than 4 hours. We arrived at Changi Airport T1 at around 8am in the morning, oh its the first time I took a morning flight too! The feeling was weird. The last time I went overseas for more than 10 days was way back at Pri4 where we went to New Zealand! Was anticipating to this trip for sucha long time, becuz by going overseas during this period of time, I gave myself 2 more weeks of holiday (self-declared) ~

SzeMin wore a DRESS, yes you dont have to RUB your eyes, she wore a dress!! Of course, we were so shocked and she was pretty pretty in her dress :]] Checked in, left our luggage with the staff and we went for a light breakfast at Kopitiam. It was around 9.30 where we went into the gate, and flagged goodbye to Mummy, 7 yi ma, Trevor bro and Khoon! There we began our 12 days journey!

We had some super ugly breakfast on the plane, like potato chicken / black pepper fish rice. I thot fish would be nice and sis got herself potato chicken, but my fish was like stinky! Oh I hate those stinky fish, eat alr want vomit can. So, I ate up her chicken since she doesnt wanna eat them (hoho). Kang kang was sitting behind me and he kicked my seat like nobody's business (D:<). We had a personal TV like what they have in SQ, and I watched Funny People, The Ugly Truth (again), UP (again) and MJ Unmasked (woot)!! I didnt know why I had so much time to watch so many shows becuz the flight was only 4 hours plus.

Thn we finally reached Taipei Airport and with the courtesy of our tour centre, we met our funny and kind tour guide 小陈 uncle. Our coach led us to 桃园高铁站 for our first experience with the bullet train going at 300km/h. It was really first, cuz we can't even tell what is outside the window becuz the speed was (zoom). We finally reached Taipei when it was time for dinner. Had dinner at 西门町as our hotel for the night was there. Oh, speaking of the hotel, you cant imagine it was sth like hotel 81 with lifts that could only contain 2 person and 2 luggages (-.-). BUT the plasma tv in the hotel room was a blast, and the best of all our stays :]] (happy happy)

Shopped around at 西门町and it was time for us to go to bed at 11 (小陈say we must sleep before eleven one k).

23 Nov 2009
Day 2's morning call was at 6am in the morning and we had this lousy stupid breakfast from hotel 81 and you can tell by looking at our stupid faces. Hams with scrambled eggs, summore dno whether the eggs can be eaten or not. Maybe its dog meat or HUMAN meat of sth you see. The colour looks weird. I didn't have them but Wq did. Ew, scary.

The coach brought us to 美人头野柳 - a place filled with natural stone cuttings that resembles queen's head, camels and many others. I tell you its freaking cold ok! The weather's like around 18 deg and it rained summore. We wore like 2 / 3 shirts and scarfs and hats and everything that could keep us warm (shiok). The scenery was really beautiful, so much more than you would see in the pictures. I love nature.

After which, we went on to 九份山城. This place was made up with a shopping street that has the most ancient remains of the old time's shopping street where the street width was super narrow and allows barely 3 person to walk to the same time. Had our lunch there - 鲁肉饭 and shopped for an hour or so before we headed to our next destination 头城农场. Yes, we are going stay over at this farm for the night! The first thing we saw was creepy crawlys all over our bed and outside our room door PLUS the most disastrous thing was that Wq and I jumped on the WOODEN bed without knowing it. So hard can, but if not you wanna sleep on the floor meh?

Went off for a trip into their hidden farm, and we're required to wear their rain boots (butchers-the first time i thought of). Was quite excited cuz I'd nvr wore them before! Haha the little boys looked kinda cute with the shoes on. We saw so many animals, like cows and goats (really) and wild boars, actually we can find them in Pulau Ubin. The trip around the farm was nice, but too bad it was drizzling all along and we had to carry an umbrella ]]:

Oh we had BBQ for dinner, those like Marina South kind, and we had this 放天灯activity that they would teach us how to fix the materials together, draw on the lantern, light it up, and see it fly high into the sky. Both our 天灯s were successful, whr we saw one other landed up on a tree (evil laugh). We had a wonderful night, after lighting our own fireworks. Day 2 was fun!

24 Nov 2009
The 3rd day's morning call was even earlier, if I didn't rmb wrongly it was at 5.30am. We had again, super sucky breakfast (its a farm, what more do you expect right). Moved on to 太鲁阁峡谷, another place with super beautiful scenery! Took pictures and eat some ice cream there. OH I rmb there was this bunch of old ladies where they were selling scenery kinda bookmarks which costs 50TP for 10. Milly sis bought a packet cuz she could give some to her colleagues. And what happened was the whole bunch of them came asking for sales. They were quite pitiful, but what to do? We aren't that rich to buy from every one of them.

Went over to 花莲, which was made up of people from 阿美族, so we arrived at this 阿美文化村and watched a dance performance by the people there. And we were asked to dance with them at the back, almost everyone went up but I didnt. Know why? Ze was sleeping on my lap! The day was short, mostly spent on the coach and travelling time took up quite alot of our time.

Not forgetting, we stole Hotel towels from 亚士都饭店. We didn't want to, but we were told to do so. It wasn't becuz the towel was super expensive or what, neither it was becuz the towel had a special design. Read on, and you'll know why pretty soon.

25 Nov 2009
The 4th day could be said as one of the most hyper of our whole trips becuz all we do is visiting many tourist destinations and taking photos and then we are off to our outdoor 温泉. Now you know why we had to steal towels from the poor hotel! We all had to go to this outdoor 温泉which provides no towel and we had to bring them on your own.

Firstly, we took the coach to this place called 八仙洞which consists of 8 caves that were formed by natural hits of the waves after a long time. It was filled with all sorts of temple like kinda statues. Next, we went off to 三仙台whwhere we saw beautiful mountains (-.-) Not interesting at all right!

The interesting part comes in where we went to the outdoor 温泉which had 3 different pools of different temperature, the hottest one had almost 40degrees and those who went in naturally had red skin when they were out. It was SOOOOOO hot ok. Burn into pig skin only. Was a wonderful experience though.

Today's stay over at 小熊度假村was another different experience. It was like we had a bunglow by ourselves, separated into a simi-detached kinda place and we had to split into 3-3 rooms with first and second floor. Had dinner at their restuarant (anw we've been eating like 10 course meal every single day until we scared). They prepared activities at night, with dancing, releasing lanterns (yeas, again), and the best was - the finding of items game. As 小陈 visited this place a number of times before, he was familiar with what are the activities they lined up for us. He alr told us in the coach where they may ask for the most number of for example, slippers, lighters, glasses and stuffs like this. WE, as kiasu singaporeans, prepared before hand, like 17 pairs of slippers from our hotel room and we brought them out for the game. We were like so enthu about winning this slipper thing and yea, of course, nobody could have more slippers than we do. Oh and they asked for like lighters and breakfast vouchers as well.

After their activity, we had Ah Ji jiejie's birthday celebration, SHE HAD A POOH BEAR CAKE! Had singing sessions and finally we went back to bed :]] Sucha fulfilling day (I like).

26 Nov 2009
This was the day where we ate at the most luxurious restuarant one could ever ask for in Taiwan, a treat from the Taiwan supplier. We had a room by ourselves, 2 huge tables spreaded out with expensive fooooooood. Of course, that was at night.

Becuz we were moving to 高雄this very day, we only managed to catch a few photos with one of the 8 significant tourist attraction - 灯塔 in the morning. The sun was strong, and the wind too. Photos taken were with our messed up hair and tiny tiny eyes.

According to 小陈, the road names of this place were named after the numbers 1 to 10 and the place we're visiting for night shopping is in the 6th street and thus the name of the night market was 六和夜市.

Before leaving for our dinner at the restuarant, we were given sometime to to shop at 新掘江夜市in the afternoon, where WeiJian and his papa had their haircuts and I bought Bestie's Xmas presents! They were not cheap ok (><) but they were preeeeetty cute.

Our shopping trip ended around evening time and we headed back to our hotel to wash up and then its time for dinner.

Dinner went well and the food was so super delicious (I like the salmon most)! We went for late night shopping and cabbed back to the hotel afterwards. Our coach driver is a 高雄人, so we allowed him to go home earlier to have dinner with his family after bringing us around for so many days.

27 Nov 2009
We woke up early in the morning today because we had to rush to 台南! Our first adventure for the day was to take a ride on their train, something like those you'ld find in our zoo or night safari, but they called it 恋恋五分车. The ride lasted for almost 30mins and we had to sit on the train across many plantation fields and of course there was a guide on the train and he sounded so alien to us cuz his chinese = cmi. We just had to make do with him and thn we reached this place called 乳牛的家.

This place was filled with so many different farms animals were we could feed them with milk, or grass. Spent quite some time there.

The coach later on brought us to this town in 台南 called 集集小镇, I forgot where they got this name from but we were allowed some shopping time. Although the town was small, but we bought quite a few things there, like pouchs, sunglasses, stationery, wallets etc.

Photobucket
Photobucket

After that we ended up in 梅子梦工厂, a factory manufacturing plums (of course they grow them). I didn't buy anything there cuz they were damn SOUR!

Followed by a trip to 日月潭, some temple, and we got ourselves some goodluck charm. The place was huge and I heard it was once affected by the earthquake and many Singaporeans donated to rebuild it just recently. How kind are we to donate to some place so far away from us :]]

There were some activity again in the hotel at night and we made 汤圆and had another round of 温泉, this time with towels (><).

This was the day everyone in the coach was looking forward to! The THEMEPARK DAY! We had 4 hours in the themepark while our tourists only had 2, and it was the first time I tried on a mini roller coaster, but try alr like nvr try, cuz it was not scary. Oh btw we had the whole coaster by ourselves and we bought photos from them.

It was in the afternoon were we visited the famous TaiPei101, had some light meal but we didnt shop, and there we went back to our hotel. Oh did I not rmb we took cab at night out to 市林夜市by ourselves and we didnt return until 2am when all the shops are closing.

Almost the shortest day of all, cuz we spent of much time in the themepark and shopping :]] I like our self designed 'uniform' best <3

29 Nov 2009 - 01 Dec 2009
Supposingly, according to our schedule, we were going to take the flight back to Singapore on this day, but luckily we extended our stay over there which made our trip lasted LONG. Those who went to the factory went to the factory, the rest of us took their 'MRT' by ourselves to shopping! I really cant rmb what we did there, but it almost lasted the same for the next few days - shopping shopping and shopping. Oh we stayed in taipei for all the extended days. Our hotels were so near xi men ding that we could go to and fro by ourselves. Are we clever or what.
