GE 2011: What's on their brain?

I received numerous calls and smses before the actual results for GE 2011 was announced by the guy who went 一炮而红 last night. Before he had the chance to recite "‎Pursuant to Section 49, Sub-Section 7E, Paragraph A of the Parliamentary Elections Act....", I was already informed about PAP's loss of Aljunied. It doesn't hurt when you're staying in Aljunied and you voted him out. It hurts when there are so many people who are staying outside Aljunied GRC and wants to support him desperately. The feeling - 无能为力.

I read an article on the reaction of ASEAN's leaders and it upsets me so much. And I quote the words, "Nothing is static. Things will change. In every change we need to ensure that it is for the positive. Not view it as a negative". You think that things will still be the same in the years to come? Dream on. The opposition will hold significant power one day, and things in Singapore will eventually turn into what is happening in Taiwan or many other countries these days. Till then, you regret. That is then called too-late.

So now, a significant number of Aljunied voters has chosen the Worker's Party team (above) to represent them in the Parliament instead of the People's Action Party. It is 5 years, starting from now, they get to queue right at the back. Why do I say this? Because they're under PAP. As realistic as it sounds like.

1. When you file in complains and the Worker's Party team returns you an email within a day, you'd expect something like this, "Dear resident of Aljunied GRC, we will look into the matter but we cannot guarantee you if we can help you solve the problem in time anot. We have too many residents to take care of as of now. Please wait patiently. This is a computer generated message. No signature and reply is required. We hope to speak to you soon."  And then you wait and wait and wait. Because they do not experience with so many people to handle. This is your fault. You chose them, don't blame others.

2. When you write in a letter to the MP complaining that the Meepok stall-holder sells a bowl of fishball noodles at $1.50, but with only 1 fishball and some noodles, they will reply you this, "Dear resident of Aljunied GRC, we promised you that we will tackle with the rising cost of living. That's why we sent in an order for all the stall-holders to sell the residents things at a cheaper price. For $1.50, that's all you can expect. So we did our job, we delivered what we promised, we can't do anything more for you regarding that pathetic fishball." Afterwhich, please do not come to my area and eat the 5 fishball $2.50 fishball noodles. You asked for it.

3. When your toilet bowl cracks and everything is leaking, you complain. "Dear MP, please do something about my toilet bowl. I need to shit urgently." They will give you a quick reply, "Dear resident of Aljunied GRC, please use a scotch-tape to tape the cracks first. We will think of a way to solve your problems ASAP. Thank you for filing in your complain." And then you wait (again) and to realise that they will only come repair your toilet bowl after the finishing repairing all the other cracked toilet bowls which are governed under the PAP constituencies. Either that, or you pay for your own toilet bowl repairs.

4. When you want a sheltered walkway to the nearest MRT station cuz the weather is getting really unbearable recently, they'll tell you this, "Dear resident of Aljunied GRC, we have also received numerous complains about this problem and we're already trying our best to send in requests to build some sheltered walk-ways in the neighborhood. We are facing a very big problem becuase all the other residents in the different GRCs governed by PAP are having the same requests and all the workers are working for them first. We may have to wait. Meanwhile, we can sell you our Worker's Party umbrella at $15 each and it is on a buy 3 get 1 free basis. Would you like to consider our Worker's Party wristband as well? Thank you for your kind understanding but we would like to let you know that, you have to wait patiently." Ya, selling umbrellas when PAP gives them out for free. Don't comment about why PAP gives them out for free and not the WP. I am not interested with those Pro-WP comments.

I don't feel like writing more because the list goes on and on and its never-ending. I am still really upset about losing our Foreign Minister George Yeo. Even outsiders, those in other countries, acknowledge his capabilities and character, so I don't understand how come the significant numbers of voters in Aljunied did not comes to their senses. I quote from MM Lee, "Aljunied voters will have 5 years to repent." Ask yourself, you want a "First World Parliament" over "Securing your future together", for what? Does having a first world parliament concerns you? Or your own future is more important?

Maybe we should call for a re-election in Aljunied because many of the older folks are mistaken ed by the voting instructions. I do not rule out the possibility of older folks or even first time voters to do this (see below) on their polling card, because they want the Worker's Party out of the Parliament. Am I right? We've been taught from young that, putting a cross (X) means no good or it means don't want. Maybe 10k voters are damn blur and they "accidentally" voted for the WP when they want them to get out of their way. Maybe a re-election in Aljunied would be good enough. Ya, dream on.

Now, maybe we can 学华语 through this entire General Election as well.

1. Potong Pasir's Mr. Sitoh Yih Pin - 守得云开见月明
11 years of serving the people in an opposition ward, you think its easy? I think he deserves more than this result. 没有功劳也有苦劳. He fought from 38 years old to 49 now. Applause for him please.

2. Nicole Seah's Complain - 惹是生非
Complain complain complain, only know how to bully the weaker ones. How come I don't see you shooting other people in the PAP team? Cuz she's an easy target issit? 老虎不发威你把她当病猫? Go back to your parents ba, they don't have to ask the other team members to look after you anymore. 温室里的小花,你懂什么?Oh ya, she likes to cry also. How can I forget about this point.

3. Chen Shao Mao - 狐假虎威
I have nothing personal against him I swear. But how come he is getting so much attention despite the fact that he has always been hiding behind the other team members? Not for the first time, but when WP wins Aljunied ytd, he was also standing behind waving, like as if it doesn't concern him at all. He's a very good lawyer, I don't criticise that, but what substance does he inculcate that the media is so interested in him?

4. My PARLIAMENT IDOL George Yeo - 真金不怕火练

He has the capabilities, he will do well no matter what. An example of an idealistic gentleman. I'm behind you! Come back again to show it to them! All the way!

I am not biased as I believe that my idol should have more photos cuz this is my blog! If you can go for the President election, I believe you can do well too!! You're a blessed man.
